Helping your teen reduce impact of negative thoughts/feelings and maintain positive behavior.
Our therapists help adolescents become aware of automatic thoughts and feelings and learn to observe them, without attaching or reacting to them. When adolescents practice this awareness, they will also learn to respond more effectively to triggers associated with their uncomfortable symptoms, thoughts, and/or feelings. Furthermore, the application of mindfulness practices has been shown through research to activate the prefrontal cortex of the brain, improving emotional regulation and self-control.

Child Psychotherapy

Teaching coping skills and tools for emotional healing
Courtney Ferguson, LPC-MHSP, will help your child learn skills to decrease emotional reactivity, cope with uncomfortable emotions, and heal trauma. If desired, Courtney will also provide parent-training to help you skillfully respond to your child's problematic behavior with compassion and understanding.

She is approved by the Tennessee Board of Social Workers to provide supervision for Licensed Masters Social Workers currently working to obtain their Licensed Clinical Social Work Certification.
