Certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction for Teens (MBSR-T) Facilitator
Jenny Hawes graduated from Montreat College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Human Services. She is currently enrolled at the University of Kentucky, completing her Master of Social Work with a specialty in early childhood trauma. Since 2011, she has been working with therapists in Charlotte, NC as a therapeutic respite parent and parent coach for children who experienced significant early childhood trauma and neglect. Mindfulness has been central to her work with adolescents who struggle with Anxiety, Depression, Attachment Disorders, Mood Disorders, Bipolar Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, PTSD, and ADHD. Also, she has served as a teen youth group leader for the past 15 years. Jenny has a unique ability to connect with teens and has helped develop mindfulness skills that better adolescents and their families' relationships.
